I never knew what I saw in your eyes
It's strong and scared
It’s warm and sad
Embraces all contradictions

A person as a mass of contradictions, how true.
I love how you chose to express this sentiment (through looking in someone's eyes). It really does sort of catch you off guard the first time you see it in someone, even when you are sort of expecting it. I think the brevity of your work really worked in your favor here; fewer words made it easier to connect and feel instead of trying to focus on reading.
