Highschool

Highschool

A Poem by Helrac
"

One of my early pieces.

"

Outside it was ok,

it was free and unowned,

I could not truly be denied.

But here in this cold manned earth

there is ownership,

and membership

and censorship.

There is power and control,

levels and classes.

Like shoots and ladders

you just have to be lucky,

It is not made of sense.

Here there are locks on doors

to keep you in

keep you out

keep you controlled.

You get in, but once your in

you have to survive.

It's the most learning

I've ever done in this place.

Discipline is a b***h. Forcing people to live in boxes (literally and figuratively speaking) is destroying our society and turning people into Pavlov's dogs. The result of this kind of education is beautifully captured in your poem Letter to a lost humanity. This is beautiful, thanks for writing it.

High School teaches you can trust very few people in a life. I like the way you described the school. Life teaches you to follow the other people. Or stand and think. Decide your own path. Last line is fact. Thank you for sharing the excellent poem.

About
I didn't intend on writing poetry. I set down to journal one day and this was how my thoughts came out. This seems to be the only way they come out which at times is really frustrating. Not sure what .. more..
