Sunburn

Sunburn

A Poem by Helrac

The surprisingly likeable sunshine

is all about.

Chest, legs, face and arms

pressed against the cool ground.

Grass marking my skin,

sun warming every inch

of my pale exposed flesh.

A soothing heat,

like that of a warm shower

or crouching over heater vents in the morning.

Aware but uncareing to everything,

heat melting my thoughts away.

The cool dark walls are welcome

to the red, searing testiment

of my venture in the sun.

Many good statements could be the title to this poem. "Sunshine" allow the reader to be brought to the poem. Poetry about Summer and heat are always a good story. I like the description of the gift of nature and the redness of a sun tan. Thank you for the excellent poem.

About
I didn't intend on writing poetry. I set down to journal one day and this was how my thoughts came out. This seems to be the only way they come out which at times is really frustrating. Not sure what .. more..
