Fear.

Just hiding in my fear,

Wishing I could make things clear.

But people can't see,

The pain hiding underneath.

So I'll stay quiet,

They don't need to hear my sighin'

As long as no one knows,

I'll keep telling them no.

They see my cuts and just stare.

Meaning they don't care.

Sometimes I wish that weren't true.

Other days I say 'F**k You'

Since they think it's funny I smile along,

Then I hide at home, proving them wrong.

If they don't know about the secrets I hide,

Then they don't have to know about my last goodbye.

So often I ask every new person who comes in my life,

'Are you here to help?

Or are you going to turn away when I need you too?'

Most don't last a day.

The others think they're depressed too.

But it's worse than that.

My heart has been hurt repeatedly.

It's now bleeding badly.

But I shrug it off like whatever,

They don't think this pain last forever.

So I stay quiet,

They don't see me cryin',

And as long as I don't tell a soul,

No one will ever know.
