Beware the Green FairyA Poem by Beautifully_Anarchistblunt emotion mixed with references to one of my favourite childhood storiesHer starving eyes scrape, The barrels of their chests, Scanning all the harpies, For whomever he might like best.
The green fairy's out to play tonight, Cus' she left Tinkerbell at home sick, Crying absinthe and spitting acid, The guilt's insincere and the innocence a trick.
Her coy smile's platered on, And her warmest laugh is fake, She was never content, And you'll fall hard for your mistake.
The green fairy's out for the kill tonight, Cus' Tinkerbell couldn't get the job done, The lost boys pointed out the sick betrayal, She knew was behind the crocodile tears all along.
I wish I weren't bewitched by the green fairy, That all I saw weren't vicious sirens, But all the lost boys aren't lying, The crocodile's stopped crying, The guilt's insincere, and the innocence a trick. © 2010 Beautifully_AnarchistAuthor's Note
