The Reaper's Game

The Reaper's Game

A Poem by HelloKayla
"

This poem doesn't really have any set meaning. It was one of those moments where you just sit down and that's what flows out.

"

One beat

Two beat

Three beats less of a living cell

You’re more than you know and yet you haven’t yet grown

Rebirthed to new eyes

New lies

And new death

You died once and now you’re dead again

Three times the charm but your luck has long left

Shadows trail and sign the guest book

Shooing away the angels coming to drag you back in

A safe zone

A white zone

A loved zone

Is what you once knew way back in the corpse of a mother’s womb

Ever then your denial of death was proceeding in young age

There was no time to avoid it

You just have to play into the Reaper’s game

I wrote this piece a long time ago but presented it to a creative writing class who gave me some interesting feedback. Just tell me what you think.
