Wake up

I wrote this poem for a friend, who is there but in alot of trouble... I'm trying to make him open his eyes before he goes beyond my reach.

Why are you unhappy?
are you lacking something?
are you missing me?
do you need me now?
cuz i need you too...

wake up i have been calling you
wake up im right here beside you
wake up dreams cant replace me!
wake up i have been waiting for you!

I want to connect with you more
I can put in my voice
but i cant find the right words
maybe im being greedy
I'm asking for to much
but i need you to wake up
before everything is gone

Like a candle in the darkness
i need you to stay strong
open your eyes and smile at me
once more

I can't lean on you forever
but im not ready to let go
reach towards my hand
not the light at the other end

Don't run away from reality
I'm part of it too
not everything is darkness
there is a light inside all of us

Is like the time we spend together
was just the calm before the storm
now my heart is a huge mess
and you are not there to make it OK

You gave me courage to keep going
so if you are waiting for me inthere
know that i will forever love you
and i hope you'll wake up...
before i'm gone.
