A Poem by Andre Peterson

All of our lives are bringing us signs and all I could think about was the distance. I know time has passed and I still have much to ask, yet I am proud to see you standing underneath the arches. Your lonely eyes mirrors the charcoal sky, although it seems lost in the gentle clouds tonight.

Do you know you could run far away from this hurt?
Blame all the mess on anyone else?
Are there really any greater things that you or I would like to be?
I hope I can one day find my own understanding.

Yet I'm pulling hard on the heartstrings tonight as my future is calling in with a sense of urgency.
You seek refuge, I answer with my arms wide open.
For you, I will always remain smiling.
It's pleasing to know that no one is really ever gone.
For even when our world goes completly dark.
You can still hear our presence as a soft, tendered whisper.

Now take a few steps back from where you once stood and just listen to the harmonious silence.
The ambience from the taken road both high and low always seems to guide you back to your home.
