A Poem by Andre Peterson

I dreamt of shifting sands where your foot prints where my guiding path.
Mountains towered before me with it's peaks scraping the heavens in an attempt to bridge our worlds together.
And this is where you lie?
Beside fountains of our youth just gazing up into the night sky.
I searched and searched and found no reason to deny what frightens me now.
Each sunrise that goes by leaves me further away than the night did before.
The worried world blankets me with more warmth than the imagined kiss would.
And as I see my world from the top of those very mountains, such things are imagined.
But this height is not what keeps me planted into the earth's soil.
It's the picture I paint every night.
The chalked sky blended into fields of Celandine.
A kingdom I've found.
I wish to share the view with you.
If only you could see.
I just wish you were here.
