A Poem by Andre Peterson

I recall the years, my room fell silent.
My curtain remained closed.
And for what?
My watch ticks me to sleep
And all I can do is listen.
More people smile back at me.
As if my expression changed their perspective for a moment.
But only for a moment.
A snap of my fingers and all as it was before.
Just like that.
I had my breath taken away nine times today.
And each time I ask myself "is something wrong."
"Could this be the effect of my magnetism?
I gasp for air, you smile and sigh.
That is the only difference between you and I.
