Cloud of Nothing

Cloud of Nothing

A Poem by Andre Peterson

On a cloud of nothing.
I have all of my friends.
Everything is over yet the memories have just begun.
To the east, over the mountains, we stare far.
A gentle sailboat floats happily; reaching further and further into the sun.
With its flag flown high, barely scraping the top it becomes a legend.
Frozen in time.
The stories the people tell of its journey are often askew.
Yet an inspiration for the youth to follow.
To hold tightly to ambition and passion of its course.
To sail off with nothing but their sea-soaked boots and tattered jeans.
Dream on young ones.
You really have nothing to fear.
On our cloud of nothing, you'll soon join us all.
In time you'll know I am right.
In time you'll understand.
For the earth yearns for understanding and learning.
For peace and love in the sleepiest of eyes.
If a gentle sailboat floats happily; reaching further and further into the sun.
Don't dare look back, young one.
Don't you dare let go.
