Why do we try?A Poem by Andre Peterson
To wish upon this night.
I see everything that I have become. To dedicate this evening. I think of everyone of you that I love. If hopes and dreams are nothing but wings upon our souls that fly high? Then why, why, do we try? Far away is she. Trying to make things right. If the night was any easier than she'd go along by and by. If love can save her now, would you be the one to tell her how. That the thing she dreams of is not so far from her. To see the garden blooming with colors; I can't seem to look away. The sunset never lies to me, I have seen the truth in your ways. If the waves come any closer to wash our names away in the sand. Then why, why, why did we let this feeling stand. Alone is he with everything that he could want. The power he now posses is the way he said he fought. If love could save him now, Would you be the one to tell him how. That than the best way to move on, is letting go. To wish upon this night. I dream alone with everything in sight. To be what I shall be. I bless this pain, I bless this fight. And If hopes and dreams are nothing but wings that carry our souls to angel arms. Then why, why, why do we try? © 2017 Andre Peterson |
