Midnight Enchanting

Midnight Enchanting

A Poem by Andre Peterson

Winter winds blow down from the mountain.

Along with the bright yellow moon.

The lonesome night sounds like a half-awake monster.

Grumbling nonsense about his earthly rule.

Looking out my window, out on the cool lazy sea.

I can only observe one dim lantern light gleaming.

Perhaps a romantic dream that is blooming with this season.

Inspiring notion those two are showing.

With enough warmth from within to burn for centuries upon centuries without their light ever going out.

I know one must have the brightest eyes.

Perhaps a light blue haze that is deep with love.

These eyes have seen the most majestic of themes.

Full of wonder and full of the greatest guidance this person has ever shown.

The other I know has the deepest desire.

To be able to give up both the heavens and the promising world.

Just to give one night more.

To be right there with the only person that he loves.

Clearly, it is seen from my window.

Like it is clear from up close.

May time pass as gentle as it has ever been for these two.

And may their dreams go on forever more.
