The Vampire's Kiss

The Vampire's Kiss

A Poem by Daphne

Long past midnight;

with the moon still high

grazing in the star-laden sky,

The bedchamber lays empty

sheets rugged and worn;

I bid you goodnight

and depart into the night.

The scarf, tightly wrapped

To hide;

the vampire’s kiss.

And I lay in bed

with another by my side;

Unloved and unloving

Dreaming; of my vampire.
