Without You

Without You

A Poem by Helen Crutchett
"

Romance

"

My heart will go on beating
When sweet blossoms bloom
Butterflies announce in flight
 renewal is only fleeting.

Warmed with rays of summer’s fire
Stoked by the heat of your love
Lazy days and sunsets gaze upon
Our soul's desires.

My heart will go on beating when
Autumn’s colors softly fall
Nature knows the seasons and the reasons why
love stories sometimes end.

Weathering winter’s bitter snow
While safely cradled in your arms
We recite poems aloud
In our cosy chateau.

But if you turn around and walk away
And your love should cease
Then I could not guarantee my love
My heart would last another day.

An absolutely beautiful piece! Love does have its seaons, and those who weather through the changes will be greatly rewarded for having experienced such a wonder. Your words and descriptions are perfect, such a lovely write.

The four seasons of love, beautifully penned. Hoping that love is ever spring and summer. Winter love and the fear of loss is too difficult to contemplate. Living without the love of your other half, too tragic by far.

What a beautiful poem of love, through the seasons of a lifetime. So often, couples who have lived and loved a lifetime together, can't bear to live life alone. When one passes on, the other follows within months. Thank you, Helena!

So many more should read your words because, once read they stay a while and make one smile. So beautifully threaded, Helena.. love deep, love meant, love in its obvious commitment. ' and ~ Nature knows the seasons and the reasons why' .. .. and yes, it does.. and Nature is what makes the heart tick and tick and ..
