Concealment

Concealment

A Poem by Helen Crutchett

Concealment

I’m just a slave intoxicated

With the call of love from the beloved

I pray for mercy and correction

Shelter from the heat of

The desert of my lost soul

~~~
Thirsting is the aridity of a lost world
Seeking divine light through curtains of
Concealment
~~~

Wandering at the ebbing and flowing

Of the oceans

The mysteries of the worlds

And universal secrets

~~~
I continue in this weak human condition
Ever reaching towards my Creator
Who sustains my longing Soul
Protecting me from turbulent storms
Sailing the ark of my spiritual life
Reborn as a new babe…
~~~

First of all, the title itself captured my attention immediately..your usage of figurative speech is splendid.."The desert of my lost soul" magnificent metaphor.."Sailing the ark of my spiritual life" another fascinating line..in a nutshell: your poem is nothing short than a topping of light that dares to override the darkness I'm feeling right now (since I haven't slept since yesterday :)) ..a masterpiece!

'Concealment'
Helen Margaret Crutchett,
Live and learn as the saying goes; so much is seen in opportunities of what intrigues and inspires in the unspoken moments of nature colliding with our hearts. You got it right I think. Concealed in mystery is the sometimes pull of God's Spirit until we simply say, "I accept things as they are, please show me."
Honest and lovely writing that was wonderful.
Blessings,
kathy

To be "drunk" as this begs for the spirit to be bathed in a light that allows one to be seen, understood, known while being released from a stronghold that strives to swallow the very essence of existence - just to be free, to be revived, to be REBORN is a gift that allows the "self" to be released from the place that causes such concealment. The storms are then calmed and the new born babe sings a song of contentment.......so thought provoking, and lovely my dear friend!
Your words are meaningful, the image is mesmerizing!

A most universal prayer in secular langugue. The fervent honesty spreading its loving arms around your soul.
