Unplayable Melodies

Unplayable Melodies

A Poem by Helen Crutchett

unplayable melodies remain
unfinished symphonies refrain
love songs not yet sung
a violin yet to be strung

a sunflower who can't face the sun
the fair maiden's heart yet to be won
folk tales of realms still undiscovered
the rainbows end with no gold recovered

the book of romance waiting to be read
a couplet to warm a cold bed
a nightingale's exquisite notes
caught in his throat

heights so heady not yet conquered
unexplored courses to be charted
a garden of delights delivered
a soul mate discovered ~

The above lines, we must be. Waiting for some kind of sunshine to make us feel alive. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.

Poetry at its finest and most sensitive mood. Love shown and shared as the known traditional poets offered and which, of course, have endured. Yes, we should - if want, write in the modern idiom but also revere the past's examples and guidance. You have, so very beautifully, Helena

This was beautiful. A very melodic piece that incorporates music and desire very nicely. This felt soft and as if floating while I read. You are very talented.

4! I only get 4 poems from you! Get drunk, follow whatever process you need, you have a way with words that needs to be prolific. You are an order of magnitude better than the rest of the people that try to put words together. Post all the stuff you don't love, it's probably still better than my best.
