Will You Dance With Me?

Will You Dance With Me?

A Poem by Helen Crutchett

Will You Dance With Me?

Will you waltz with me in moist midnight air...

Take my hand to the strains of violins'

Without a care?

Our newly discovered fragrant rose garden of Secret delights...

Kissed by moon's bright shining light

Enchanted by the calling of deep

Mystical sounds

At last I've found

Look deep into my eyes as you embrace

my waist so tight...

On a magical carpet ride

This enchanting night

When our dance is through, my dear

Our hearts entwined together its clear....

As we sit at the feet of Eros' enthralling shrine

Our love will out-dazzle the brightest star's shine ~

Uh, sure, if you don't mind my clumsy feet stepping on your toes … only teasing. : )

Ohhh, Helena!
Even if I'd never danced, after reading through all the alluring nuances of this enthralling piece you'd have a time getting me off your card, the imagery of all you said so sweetly stirred the hidden dreams of floating through your garden of secret delights like Fred Astaire, with you in my arms.
See what a lovely effect you have on my vivid imagination … LOL!
Such an entreating, befitting picture to express the essence of your wondrously-writ verses of enchantment, and after the dance … oh-MY! The roses beneath are a lovely touch, too, and the hot pink … MMmmm!

I'd like to single-out at least one verse, line, or word, but alas, it seems nothing can do without all the rest, it all fits so perfectly, and the rhymes and flow create a rhythm ever-so sensually sublime, in slowww, gentle waltz-time.

Thank you, Helena, for the sooo romantic invitation … now, to brush-up on my steps to please the Lady*
I love it! ⁓ Richard

A very good captivating poem. I love how the content flows. The last two line - very powerful on what love can do when is true.

i love this...but then i love dancing...and sometime i think between two people it is really most sensual form of expression imaginable...moving together, moving to the beat...having the music in us, as one.
