My PegasusA Poem by Helen Crutchett
My Pegasus It must have been moon-glow intoxication entering my soul one lonely night,
a night when I thought all was lost in heaven and earth, when I could no longer stand my loveless existence ~ The ink black sky opened in a burst of gold and rainbow colours clambering to embrace this lonely poetess whose pen had dried like the shell of a fallen star exposed to uncertain elements of a changeable cosmos ~ You, my saviour of the night keeper of my dreams rescuer of this woman locked in a castle high on the rugged cliffs of loneliness overlooking an angry sea ready to drown all hopes ~ You came in answer to my call I never gave up that the Gods’ would hear my prayers carried in whispers on wings to your heart " Come my Pegasus... ride across the heavens your home of uncountable stars with your golden bridle of love to the precious place in my heart held only for you ~ (c) Helen M.
