Prompt Challenge of 100 words.

 

Grand Design

 

We finally moved into our modern, restoration home.

That night sleep eluded me and I decided to climb the beautiful spiral staircase.

When I reached the top I saw the big empty space before me.  The staircase hadn’t been finished!  All of a sudden I tumbled down, down into the black void, screaming.

With a jolt I was back in bed.

What a nightmare!

I have this recurring dream of being on my mattress going down a river. Recurring dream is gone but sometimes I used to imagine my mattress was on water. Yeah, I was a weird child. Falling in dreams always feel weird especially when you wake up from them. Usually, I'm just thankful I didn't actually fall.
