Helping my child to heal... a poem written as an antidote to 'Oh Shame! Oh Pain!" (which features in the book 'Reflections from difficult times')

No shame! No pain! I can hear you now

Quick, show them how you'll be!

How you move through life

You're proud to let them see.

No shame! No pain! Progress not perfection

Water your soul with tears.

Open your heart dear

And release your long held fears.

No shame! No pain! Redemption is yours

You're human in everything.

Forgive them dear

And learn the lesson they bring.

No shame! No pain! You are good enough

You've grown from a broken girl.

You're so full of good stuff

They didn't guess how you'd unfurl!

No shame! No pain! They were profane

They were broken and they did bad.

Be yourself now

Be yourself and just be and be glad.

No shame! No pain! Shush now

You are loved now and there is trust.

Beautiful spirit!

Your feelings can be discussed.

No shame! No pain! Lived in face, eyes alight

Wonderful woman and child!

No more anger inside

You're warm and you're strong and you're wild.

No shame! No pain! No longer part of you

You've grown and escaped it's grasp.

Embrace love now

No more need to hide the past.

No shame! No pain! No hiding now

You know that you are not bad.

No f**s, booze or food (Beautiful Spirit)

And you tell them when you are sad.
