I Long

I Long

A Poem by Helen
"

A common topic I know, but its how I feel right now.

"

Simply needing pure love
A righteous lover to caress my inner being.

Why must I long for what should be,
for what I have not seen.

The winds of foul love have blown chills across my skin
Caught in the thoughts of sin imposed by those who have pursued me
Evil pressed on me like a coating I cant escape
Honeymooners hollow promises and I am victim again.

May we not fly away
Can you not see beneath my clothes,
beneath my skin, is a heart and soul
I deserve love
I deserve to be whole

I understand the grief of Lilith
I feel like I am killed each time I see your sex eyes evaluate me
Is that all I am worth
Now I turn away
Fooled again
I hide in shame
Is my life to you, not but a game.

This is stunning. It was quite by chance I stumbled upon your writing. How glad I am that I did!
Your imagery is haunting. I found myself quite caught up with your words.
It would seem that the very letters paint a picture of your soul.
How many others have uttered words such as yours? Longed for a touch such as you?
I applaud your style. This is quite beautiful.
I would like to see more. :-)

Yours, Emmy

In this great poem you sound so wise, so
mature for your tender years.
I am pleased to hear you put in to writing,
the wisdom to differentiate love from sex.
This is very nice work.
More please.

Your imagery is marvelous. The emotion in here, while described often within other poems, is still nice. The reason it's touched on so much is because people can relate to it. Good job.

Hello Helen.

"I understand the grief of Lilith," made me balk; then, I said, "How could you not?" because at the end of the day, when you sit on the darkened grass by yourself, watching the stars race across the sky, that's who you are.

Pure love, then, Helen, might not be found in the eyes of another, but in our perfect reflection in those eyes.

I like your images:
Caught in the thoughts of sin imposed by those who have pursued me
Honeymooners hollow promises

This line could be sharper -- snappier:
I feel like I am killed each time I see your sex eyes evaluate me
