Ruby wished her attendance in Solarist was over, she wanted to go home. It was dark and scary, so Ruby stumbled into bed. She pulled the covers above her head, closed her eyes tightly and wished hard.

“Goodbye, Leigh,” she whispered to herself. “I’ve caused enough trouble to you. I hope you forgive me,” she added. Tears were streaming down her face, feeling awfully sorry for Leigh. It was all her fault. She closed her eyes, but no matter how hard she tried she just couldn’t open them! They started to hurt and sting, her body became hot and sweaty, then pitch black.

Ruby awoke, sweating at the hospital. Grace was holding her hand, her head resting on Ruby’s knee. It was dark and Ruby could barely see Mum, but she heard her snores. She felt for Grace’s watch, 3:39 am. Ruby tried closing her eyes and she fell asleep, but no dream came to her mind. After 3 hours of tossing and turning, the sun started to appear. Grace woke up with start, and punched Mum up to get her to awake. Mum, too awoke with shock and squeezed her daughter tight.

Mum took Ruby and Grace home and Ruby went outside and ran around to distribute her energy. She wanted to dream once more. She wanted to know what mischief would occur next.
