I hate this buzzing in my head!
Sometimes I wish that I were dead.
I used to feel alive, inspired.
Now I just feel old and tired.
A sadness washes over me,
Sometimes it's just too hard to see,
A point to life's hard knocks,
and the constant ticking of life's clocks.
Is there a reason to get out of bed?
(STILL that damn buzzing in my head!)
To stumble downstairs, to greet the day?
(Look! Spring flowers blooming in May)
A train passing down the track.
A bird singing out in back.
The sun struggling through the cloud.
I hear the shower running - loud!
Would you like some tea my dear?
Sorry, this buzzing makes it hard to hear!
Was that a YES? Please don't yell,
You're feeling frustrated, I can tell!
Grumble, mumble, bumble on,
Another day, so stumble on!
Grab some coffee, a piece of toast,
It's the mornings I hate the most!
Ah Jayne, this is fun and it speaks so much of those who have a hard time getting around in the mornings lol. Don't even talk to me before my first cup. My son now delivers to my room lol, isn't that sweet.
I am so excited to see you writing poetry! Really I am. I love what it is that motivates you to write. It's like being on your side of the world, see things from your point of view.
I really enjoyed this piece. You did great rhyming as well.
That time of day, really penned this so well!
enjoyed your groggy, buzzing morning!
'is there a reason to get out of bed'
and it''s Just Another Friday Morning!
Oh dear, who got out of the wrong side of the bed this morning! How about another poem, but this time on the joy of getting up on a bright summers morning when everything is right with the world! Well, I know yoiu have a good imagination!!
Giggles! giggles! & more giggles! You certainly have a way with words! I love the lighthearted tone you use to let the emotions flow. I quite understand the frustration of the narrator and the way in which you conveyed your obvious malcontent (lol, had to use it!) with the mundane morning ritual - is priceless!

Oh, wow, was that ever how I felt sometimes before I retired! I'm much more cheerful now. Beautifully stated, universal truths. =) Rhyme and rhythm are a big plus for you.
Awwww. Sounds like someone is sick and tired of being sick and tired. As one grumpy old woman to another grumpy old woman, here, have another cup of coffee. It will cure what ails ya. And if all else fails, write another poem. Gotta go now, it's time for my nap. (smiling real big).
I loved this! XD Definitely reflects the frustration we all feel in the morning. I'm never more tired than I am when my alarm clock rings. o-o; I loved the second to last stanza in particular, and how it was written like dialogue. Great job!
Laugh and the world laughs with you - cry and you cry alone!
What better incentive to see the humour in everything you do?
