Baltimore on fire

Baltimore on fire

A Poem by WindsorWolf28

Baltimore on fire,
Flames licking at the sky.

Protests,
No.
Riots.

Solving a tragedy with violence,
Leading to more tragedy.

Screams
Ricochet through the air-
Like bullets.

Bricks and punches
Are thrown.

Churches burnt.

People killed.

Sirens for miles.

Only 14 miles away.
Across the bridge
That holds it at bay.

Supposed protests
For a man
Named Freddie Gray.

Reputations ruined.
Families broken.

"It's not my problem."
Well now it is.
Now it's everyone's problem.

Because Lord Baltimore
Is up in flames.
All for a man
Named Freddie Gray.
