Little seed

Little seed

A Poem by WindsorWolf28

A little seed was thrown by an ignorant child,
Onto the frozen ground,
And smothered by those with smiles.

That little seed was forced into the ground.
Later the rain came,
And it nearly drowned.
But that tiny seed
Soaked in the tears of the sky.

And slowly,
Ever so slowly,
Roots began to pop out of it's sides.

One day
A child came,
Walking by where the seed remained.

As the child passed,
A little leaf of green
Peaked through the dark and drying dirt.
Unseen.

Soon the tiny leaf of green
Became a strong and sturdy stem.

And a tiny bud appeared,
A deep and dark red.

And in just a couple of days,
That tiny bud unfurled,
Spreading its petals wide,
Boasting to the world.

The tiny bud
Became a huge rose,
And grew some thorns. (But we were all expecting those.)

The little seed
Survived and grew strong.
It truly showed the world
That it was really wrong.
