WordsA Poem by WindsorWolf28
I thought we already
Went over this. How words hurt More than any fist. And now, Do you see that girl? Words engraved on her wrists, Hating the world. Her only wish Is to not exist, And to fade back into the blackness Under which she was born. And at home, She's all alone. Evil texts Blowing up her phone. Her father pulls Another beer from the fridge, And she stands still, Enduring his hits. Her mom doesn't care, Popping pills into her mouth, Forgetting the child She should have loved. And she limps to her room, And pulls out her knife. Cutting the flesh, It only feels right. She cries herself To sleep every night, Ignoring her phone, And it's deadly messages. She wakes up, Stares in the broken mirror. She sees a disgrace, And she feels the tears Begin to fall Again. She pulls on The same old shirt She's always worn. She pulls on Her old sneakers, Two sizes to small, And falling apart. No make up to hide The bruises and scars. Her blonde hair hiding Her face as she climbs Onto the bus, Where you make up rhymes. You call her name, You call her lame, She's a loser, She's worthless. And she believes Every word you say, Her heart is aching, But she'll just nod and say "Okay." And in class, She sits in the back, Unseen and unheard, Alone in this world. © 2014 WindsorWolf28 |
