Bloody wingsA Poem by WindsorWolf28
A broken and torn angel
Has just lost her wings Bloody stumps on her back. Such gruesome things. Feathers fall softly To the blood stained floor. And a shaded figure Stands in the door. She gasps for air As she lays on the ground She sobs quietly, Afraid to make too loud a sound. Her beauty begins to fade And her halo clatters to the floor. She's terrified But she cannot lose this war. She pushes herself to get up, And she staggers to her feet! The shadows in the room gasp, This couldn't possibly be! She claws the wall, Feeling her way, Leaving blood stains In her wake. She wears a pained expression, Her brow shines with sweat. Her back drips blood. But she's not done yet. The man in the door, He is shocked. He shows an emotion, One he long ago locked away. She picks up the knife, The same terrible thing That sliced and chewed And severed her wings. But it isn't over. She still isn't done. This is her battle. And it's one that she won. © 2014 WindsorWolf28Reviews
