JESSICA DORIS O'LEARYA Poem by Heather-AprilMy niece and nephews are my world. This little girl made it possible for my sister to have a family. I wrote this piece for her to know how much she means to us all.I was only young, When I first heard. Although in the moment, I wasn’t even scared.
I didn’t understand, Until she explained. She’d never be a Mother, All her emotions were drained.
Her heart broke before the news, A baby girl will soon be born. But all the complications she endured, Her heart was shortly torn.
The fear of the loss of her baby girl, Echoed the world surrounding us. But after only eight fearful months, She came out, with limited fuss.
The first to come along, But far from the last. Jessica Doris O’Leary, ever so strong, Will look after her two little brothers.
Four years since she came, Jumping with joy into our lives. She will never understand, The joy that she gives.
Happy little girl, She will always be. Will one day know, How much she means to me. © 2017 Heather-AprilAuthor's Note
