Love Enslaved

Love Enslaved

A Poem by Matthew H. Stirling
"

A poem that explores the fickleness of love.

"

Tale as old as time

Of Warrior, clad in valour

Of Maiden, beautiful and kind

And Heart, lost in clamour

Enslaved by love divine,

Yet freed, set in motion -

Winter melts away

Springtime flowers blossom

Serenity engraved,

Matched only by Hearts devotion.

But love is never tame -

Engraved so in water -

Heart, clad in pain

Warrior, enslaved to another

Maiden, lost to rain.

And yes indeed love is has and will always be fickle!
