Chapter Ten

  The knock on the door gave me butterflies in my stomach and I couldn’t wait to see his chocolate brown eyes. I stood there at the door, not hesitant, but excited to finally see him again. I opened the door and there was a beautiful smile on his face, “ It’s nice seeing you again,” I said, “Please, come in.” He walked in the house and stood there.

“So?” he said.

“ I want you, Josh. I made my decision. You do something to me, to make me fall in love with you every time I see you. Yes, we barely know each other, but do you believe in love at first sight?”

“If only it’s the right girl.”

“ Did you find her? I mean you, yourself said that you liked me too. Do you?” he came into my personal space and wrapped me in his loving arms again, “Karenille not only do I like you, but I believe in love at first sight and I fell for you right when I saw you for the first time,” he explained. Not for a second did I want him to let go of me!

       The day was more than I asked for. He  took me out to a nice dinner and we eventually made it to my father’s house and we told him everything. From the night he left my house for the dinner to Jake informing that he’s been cheating on me. For a second I never thought he would believe me, but he did. The more explaining I did, the more he believed me. It all turned out great in the end. He informed me that the police did come and ask him questions about the “hit” he did to my mom. My mom actually fessed up and told the truth. She did, because she wanted to find a reason to leave my dad. I don’t know what was wrong with telling my dad straight up the real reason, instead of trying to separate me and my father and really she made me want to cut the ties with her as my mom. Everything unfolded the way it was supposed to.
