Time To Change!

This piece is about how bad the world really is, and who is willing to stand up and change it?

       

Okay so I know this is an embarrassing statement. I just got to hear a very touching song by Michael Jackson, called, The Earth Song. It really touched my heart in many ways. When I first heard the song, it made me want to see the music video and I recognized how bad our world really was and still is. And, honey, not just in this country all over the world, if I might add.

     If you could just sit back and realize all the bad things that is going on in the world, we could name so many things that are wrong. We have riots, hunger, and the homeless. We have kids in need of better homes and better parents. We have the worst propaganda. We have homeless on the corner of the streets or under the bridges we drive under and all we do is drive by them like there trash.

      The riots that we have, go overboard with their emotions. There not only destroying their own property that they pay for with their taxes, but there destroying everything that they could possibly use in their lives. And you know it’s sad, more than anything. It’s good to protest, and let your voice be heard, but when it comes to destroying everything, there’s a point where you need to stop. Trust me, if I was living in Ferguson, Missouri or any place that was having a protest, about something I feel strongly about, I would be there, holding up my sign and screaming at the top of my lungs.

      Hunger is something that needs to be changed out of everything. Do you really think that there aren’t  people out there in the Land of the Free that aren’t starving for food? That aren’t praying for their next meal to come? That some kids are wondering when their next meal is going to be? Because there are. Just because we are the Land of Opportunities doesn’t mean that we’re perfect, because we’re not. If we have more opportunities than most countries, than how come we don’t take the opportunity to change the world? To stop the hungry?

     I remember one time, actually not too long ago, I saw about two men sleeping under an unused building, with sleeping bags covering them, because they were so cold. We past them twice, because we had to come back and park. I just thought, that one day, there will be someone that will take care of these people and get them off the streets. And you know what, I believe that person will be me! One thing that I do know about the homeless, is that some of them want help and some of them don’t. Some chose to be homeless and keep buying the drugs that got them there in the first place. Then, I know the ones that have no other place to go, because maybe their families have abandon them, because of drugs or because they can’t get up with life on their own two feet. But that’s why there are people like me, who are willing to help them get up and start a new and better life for themselves.

     There are people that I go to school with that have parents that don’t care about them. And it’s absolutely sad. I know my parents wouldn’t approve of me bringing them home and giving them a better place and atmosphere to live in, but sometimes it’s tempting. I hate to see them come to school, covered in sadness. To know that school is probably the safest place for them to be, and to know that they really don’t even want to leave, because they're scared to go home. Where no attention or help is given to the child. But it’s all going to change.

          One day, all this will change. They say it takes a special person to change the world or do something that extreme, but you know what?  We’re all special, so anyone can change the world! When are you going to take a stand?

Thank you. This is one thing that's always on my heart. We have a lot of bad issues going on in the world and it gives me great material to work with, but it also gives me great material to work with, so I can change the world!

I like the innocence of this. There's a lot of complexities and simplicities in the world that contradict each other. I think the piece is well written, I don't necessarily agree with whats being said but yet I still enjoyed reading and understanding the narrators perspective. Good job.

The whole narration is interesting but very naive. Its great to have a good outlook on the world, however for myself, I don't see the world as a place where every human matters and is special in their own unique way. I see us all as equally existent as any other organism. Our intelligence and strength as a whole is what makes us feel more important. Being important and being impactful is very different. Everyone is impactful on some scale, that can't be helped. We effect everything around us everyday. We are lucky to look at life about being happy, but life is about survival in many ways. Nothing is perfect, people have cruel people/things in their life, people can be cruel, etc. Men at a newspaper in France were just murdered for making newspaper political cartoons, which is their job. They were killed for that. The men who did it, though they were doing the right thing. That massacre was based off of religion, Islam. How can you tell them what they truly believe is wrong? Because its wrong to you? There are so many different perspectives and morals out in the world that how can we judge what is right and wrong? I think this piece is cute in ways and makes me smile, but for me personally I can't relate because I don't see the world that way.

That's what makes us come together. To have differences makes us come together. Not all people see the world like I do. I see that the world does have it's problems, it's issues, it has a lot of things going on that is nothing but hell. We struggle from day to day, and yes even the best of people. Some people think that there are no fixing or helping the world, but I think there is. But it has to take a special person that could dedicate themselves to it. I can do it and I plan on doing it. People will label me crazy, but I'm not living for other people. I'm living for me. I'm living for God. I'm not living for no one else. I say that it's better to look at the world in a better perspective or you won't be happy. You may be happy, but are you truly? Just think about it all.

I am happy because I understand how we aren't important. I live my life knowing that as long as I am happy and I understand the importance of being selfless, I can live a good existence. Me or you dying, although in the time, will impact people who know us, our death isn't important. Do you think people across the world or an animal or plant across the world is affected by it? Will people in the future care? Do we care when a fly dies? I think this mind set keeps us from being too self involved and thinking that we are more than we are. No one or no thing is more important than another. I also do not believe in God, which is another reason my outlook is different.

But, I'm sorry I'm not going to sit around and just think and dream about it, but not do anything to change the world. To make it a better place, you have to do something. That is exactly my goal. To tell people around the world how bad we're hurting and how blind we are to see the ones that are hurt and in need. Were too busy trying to find what makes us happy and how to live our lives day to day, but while we do that, there are people and kids out there that are dying every single day and were only doing so much that we can, but I believe it's time to step it up, to actually see a change in the world.
