Until

Until

A Poem by Heartful5160
"

This is about how I had strong feelings for a guy and I didn't really know, until I stopped talking to him and left him alone.

"

You used to mean nothing to me, until you laid  my eyes on me.

I wasn’t feeling it at first, until you twisted our hands together.

I didn’t care for you, until you showed me you cared about me.

I couldn’t miss you, until I was away from you for a week.

I didn’t know I loved you, until you left for good.

They led the way - made all the first moves and then left like a tornado, with a wreckage behind.
The longing for a former lover is usually made more intense by our repainting of the affair as a perfect example - never again to be experienced and having done that enough times we convince ourselves the new memory of it all was the real one.

The last line is a knockout in a flurry of combinations and jabs. Very enjoyable.

Simple words deciphering sophisticated meaning.
Can't stop speculating about the feelings aroused by these lines.

Yeah, most of the times, we ain't know.. what it's actually 'bout. Is it 'bout love or just 'bout the strong fire of infatuation? It happens to every soul wandering around the world. I'm glad to read something true from a creative writer. Keep it up!
