A poem about the sadness in watching others share love when you cannot yourself.

Slow Dance

Why?

 

Why have a dance where love is shared?

Why Cupid, is love unfair?

Why torture me with sights of love?

Why do I still love someone?

 

Why?

 

Why break up a dance with hype?

With songs that make the dance turn dry

Why do I have to watch cute couples?

When I have no one with who I cuddle

 

Why?

 

Why Mr. DJ do you pain me so?

And so you, the girl that goes

And so do the others who turn on me

And go for others who are dear to me

 

Why?

 

Why do we need stupid love songs?

They should stay in my heart, which has been wronged

Why do I keep crying adieu?

When I can’t leave you ‘cause I love you
