HOPE

I see people around,

big smile on their face

full of hope and life

I'm either physically

or emotionally aloof,

Trying to be putting

up a best face,

scared of past catching

up with the future,

I feel lost,

kind of empty & alone

listening to a voice,

but there is a peace

which isn't calm

and soothing.

Looking for a hope,

but now it is also lost.

Sounds like a feeling of isolation and alienation in this one. There is the thought of being alone and stressed while others are "full of hope and life.'' The irony is that the others are feeling the same thing while putting up a pleasant front. Envy often accompanies pain.
