Imprisonment

Imprisonment

A Poem by Sam

Hidden in the box

She walks in the light

Seeing everything

Knowing nothing

There is no pain

It's an abyss

Which time holds

Within her shell

She cries and cries

Until she is thirsty again

The locks surround her

As she screams

No one hears her

And it's her love

That binds her

The woman doesn't see her

The boy doesn't know her

The man doesn't love her

And yet, they all know her

Dying, she holds herself

In the box of no pain

There is nothing

But her prison

That she will never leave

Sam =( this poem is so sad. I think we've all held our emotions and feelings in... thinking it's easier to acquiescence than fight. Good write Sam =)

'she cries, and cries
until she is thirsty again'
- i loved those two lines

Sam, I got it now. This last stanza explains it. My computer didn't show this last stanza to me

"dying, she holds herself
in the box of no pain
there is nothing
but her prison
that she will never leave."

Now, I see how she connects to the box; it is her safe haven. Good Job!

I was a little lost about her. I love the imagery, but I couldn't see how it all connected.
