Divide

Divide

A Poem by Marcus R V Fielder

Palms pressed up, unflinchingly on the glass,

Hands like these,

Light eyes stare, locked in those glimmering blacks,

That give it back to you,

Our worlds are parted by this glass,

We are different, in the race; we are a leap ahead,

I look into your world and you look into mine,

Each others zoos,

It’s like the past and future caged,

We are more, we have touched the stars,

We bicker amongst ourselves and play with fire,

I’m all dressed up and you’re plain to see,

Our hands are parted by so much less.
