Can You Hear Me?

What is it like to be raped? I never had the beautiful pleasure of experiencing it. But I did get the chance to be molested, and if anything I know rape and molestation are not the same, but I also do know they leave both people victims and broken and hurt and gone and lost. Is it a feeling I yearn for? To be touched, to be lost and hurt "NO". Is it a feeling anyone cries out for "NO", yet somehow it seems that way by the looks & rate of it all. I would much rather be abused than raped, I would much rather be called a s**t than abused, I would much rather wish to experience meanness than be called a s**t, I would much rather be mute than experience meanness, I would much rather hide than be mute, and sadly the list goes on and it will keep going on until you finally realize that we the victims feel hurt. We feel lost. We feel so much and yet we don't feel peace, justice, hope, happiness, love, and etc. Maybe that's why so many of us head towards a path of disaster while so little struggle to keep a smile written on their face; I don't know about you, but it seem like optimism is my only BEST friend right now, maybe he could be yours too. Because without him/her/it/they/them that path of ruin, of disaster doesn't look so bad right about now, it looks appetizing. Don't trust and then trust, this world is just a big game of confusion and I, I'm done being confused.

I hear you loud and clear. Your story is a sad one but ends with defiance and courage. Abuse kills- if you let it. I love the way you take us backward through your "I would much rather"s- very eloquent and effective. Please stay best friends with "Optimism" and steer clear of darker waters. You are very talented, and you give a strong voice to victims of abuse. Keep writing! Brava!
