Jason's Final Goodbye

Jason's Final Goodbye

A Story by Lol Thats Life
"

It's my fan fiction on the whole Jason and Batman relationship and stuff.

"

“Change is just a word that people like me, laugh in the face of.” Jason said as he stared at the ground daring not to look at Batman.

“And why's that Jason?” Batman asked.

“Because Bruce, how can you dare to change something that is just, so... beautiful?”

“So, killing people is now considered beautiful?”

“Killing the right people, is beautiful.”

“What has he done to you Jason?”

“Nothing absolutely nothing, well except for bringing me back to life, to give me a second chance to have the balls you lack to kill the bad to protect the good. All while bringing order to this wretched world.”

“And the only way to protect the good is by killing the bad? Jason, I thought I taught you better than this?” Batman said as his voice rose higher and higher as anger grew within him.

“ Stop calling me Jason! You Bruce, have no right to call me by that name anymore, you lost that right when

A.    you let The Joker kill ME as well as beat the s**t out of ME, without ever seeking revenge, and

B.    when you gave up on ME and just let me stay dead, when you knew about the Lazarus pit along with its abilities, and you didn't even go to Rahul ghul TO HELP ME. But no, you were just too good for me that His daughter had to take me. And so, NO. You Bruce have no right to call me by that name.” Jason yelled to Bruce in anger and frustration as spit sprayed from his mouth with every single word he yelled, he began to sweat and his hair began to become out of place.

“Don’t you think I wanted to, because of what he had

done to you. But killing a criminal doesn't solve anything,

and it certainly does not make you any better….”

“ I’m done with your excuses, and hey, look on the bright

side you're right, it makes me greater, now if you excuse

me I have a joke to kill somewhere in Gotham” he said as

he composed himself back together

“…Jason don't!”

Jason jumps off the building and goes the way of the

Joker, Batman runs to the edge of the building with his

hand out stretched before him only wishing to grab Jason

before his leap, but is too late and looks down only to see

no one there below him…

“Alfred locate Jason, I’m afraid he is going to do something that he won't regret”

“Yes, sir”

20 min. Later Somewhere Else In Gotham City

As Jason stabs The Joker he begins to twist the knife violently around and around in his guts to the rhythm of a ticking time bomb.

“Ha-ha ,uurrgghh, you are not like Batman whatsoever my dearest boy wonder”

“You're right, Batman saves you guys and I,... well you get the point” he said looking down at the knife in the Joker's stomach as his blood began to cover Jason’s hand and the knife.

Suddenly Batman comes running to Jason and quickly turns him around , the Joker falls to the ground without the ability to catch himself.

“Ahhhhh that hurts” he groans out laughing.

Jason faced towards Batman and stared him deep within his soulless eyes. Jason then swiftly tries to stab Batman, but Batman grabs Jason’s hand and then Jason kicks him. Batman lets his footloose and then Jason begins to try to stab Batman, but then he kicks the knife out of his hand. Jason stops trying for a second and holds his head out of frustration. Jason begins to hunch over for a few seconds.

“Aaahh, You IDIOT, WHY would you do that? You stupid, stupid man!” he said as he crouched holding his hand within the other. Looking up to Batman as he spoke down upon him.

“Because you're wrong about killing the evil and hurting the bad to protect the good.”

“Enough!!!” he said already frustrated. He began to get up straight and then stood up as he moved his fingers to stop the pain. Soon Jason pulls out another knife from his back and tries to stab Batman again, Batman dodges every swing thrown his way, Jason then begins to kick Batman, Batman blocks every blow with his cufflets. Jason stops kicking and Batman begins to throw his punches at Jason, Jason backs away and looks at Batman as his blood dripped from his mouth and nose. Batman stood there with a black eye and bloody ears. After a couple of hours Jason wipes the blood from his mouth and tries one last time, Jason begins to run towards Batman and pulls out a knife.

Batman then takes out a batarang as Jason charges him.

                                                              #

There Jason stood with a batarang within his stomach, standing still within his place, paralyzed by the actions Batman had taken. Wide eyed as he stared at Batman, Jason slowly dropped his head down, only looking down at the batarang in his stomach. Blood soon began to come dripping out of [4] Jason’s mouth. Jason takes hold of Batman and holds on tight to Batman's hand with the batarang still inside and only smiles in Batman's face, Batman slowly falls back onto his back with the face of distraught, shock, and confusion to Jason’s smile gesture. Jason then falls on top of Batman only making the knife go further and further into his stomach.

“Aaahh, Uurrgghh!!!” Jason screamed.

Jason looked Batman in his eyes as tears began to cloud his vision, Batman stared Jason in the eyes as he himself begins to get teary eyed. Jason still holds his gaze with Batman's eyes while also holding his smile to hide the fact that he is hurt not only physically, but mentally from the fact that his own father-like figure had stabbed him.

“Ha it's funny how life works, Huh

batty” *cough cough*

Jason lifts his hand up and drags it down the side of Batman’s face
“ *Cough cough* I was never greater than you, but* cough cough he coughed some more as the blood came out of his mouth* [5] , ha but I was hurt more than you.”  He said to Batman as tears came running down the side of his cheeks only landing onto Batman's face.

“Ha-uh hey batty, before I go for the second time I forgot to tell you all those times before thank you, so um *urgh ahh* thanks”

Batman began to cry while he tried to hold the tears back and said to Jason as he struggled for his last bit of breath,

“And I forgot to tell you before you left, that I love you son”

Jason smiled a great smile that was as real as the first time he became the next boy wonder, his pupils then dilated and his head fell against Batman’s chest and his body fell onto the batarang completely.

Batman stared into the night sky as he got his hands and took the batarang from within Jason’s stomach, he threw the knife far away and sat up grabbing his face with one hand and holding Jason closely to him with the other as he sobbed endlessly, once again for his dead son.

“*Cough* Batman, help me” Joker cried out from the ground far away on the building's roof.

But Batman with a smile on his face, just laid there holding Jason's body reminiscing on their days shared together as father and son. [6]

There's some good bones here, but there could be a lot more polish. I like the premise, but I think we could use more details, especially with the setting. The dialogue feels a little flat. I think if you had the characters act more, like when Jason is telling Batman not to call him by name, you can describe what he's doing (pacing back and forth, ringing his hands, etc). I think that would help the dialogue pop more.

I like the plot of your story and the plot twist that it was given. I feel like it is ironic in some ways and in other ways it shows how people can change. I think it would be cool if batman explained his side to why killing people is bad. In depth so we can see his view and try to decide which side we were on in our own opinion.

Wonderful story really knows how to pull the heartstrings. I love how your able to clearly portray Jasons descent into madness and his reasons to seek revenge.

On the other hand Batman role is a bit plain. because we the viewer dont get to see whats going on in his mind.on another note I think if it be really wise if the beginning you set a scene before going straight to dialogue.
