Dear Jane Doe

Dear Jane Doe

A Story by HeIsAlive

Dear Jane Doe,
What arrogant eyes you have, looking down on everything and everyone you see. Must be nice, isn't it? Oh? But what is this? A crack in the reflection? A wilted flower among many? An open wound that won't heal? My dearest Jane Doe, those eyes may trick everyone, but everyone but one.
The land is as black as coal. So lifeless and colorless. A distant figure is seen. Void and hollow. A little girl sits near a tree at the center of an eerie garden, looking up to a faceless sky. An infant's cry echos across the valley, tainting the air you breath.
This is home. Your home. The one you close your eyes to. The one you try to lock away. The one you wish would go away. The one that cripples you, making every breathe of air you take in one to regret.
Oh, my dearest Jane Doe, when did you become so spineless? So weak? So stupid? You say that you want to end the very thing you have called life, so why haven't you? Is it because you're afraid of ending up where everyone else will? Or is it because the lies you've made are now becoming your reality?
You've dug yourself a deep grave and now you can't seem to set yourself free. Dead or alive, you'll live hell twice. You know, they say that life is just a game and if you play your cards right, you might just win. Needless to say, it seems like you've played the wrong hand. This isn't life anymore Jane Doe, but merely a dead man's wonderland.
As time runs out,
The air wears thin,
And all your imperfections and insecurities,
Begins to eat at you from within.

So close your eyes,
And sing yourself a lullaby,
Because tonight is the night,
That this will be your last glimpse of sight,
As you sing yourself a lullaby,
A lullaby " Good-bye".

Yours in Eternity,
Yourself.
