The Reflection in The MirrorA Chapter by haylx061007Chapter ThreeRiley’s mumbles filled the air, snapping me back into reality. My hand trembled as I placed the pen down on the notebook.
There it was. That awful night had been summed up into a total amount of seven pages. I couldn’t bare to look at those seven pages, but there they were, starring back at me. Taunting me. I bundled those seven pages in my hand, and walked into the open kitchen. With my repulsive past in one hand, I grabbed a lighter out of the cabinet drawer. This was it. This was the one time I could control the outcome of that night, and it ended today. My dark past ended the minute that vivid flame touched those ink-stained pages. I watched as all seven pages crinkled and burned, in the stainless steal sink in front of me.
I had to face the facts; by the time I was twenty years old, I was victim of rape a new mother. The odds couldn’t have been more against me. But no matter what, I pushed myself to not be another statistic. I wouldn’t let that Monster ruin my life. © 2010 haylx061007Author's Note
