Till' Death Do Us Part

Till' Death Do Us Part

A Poem by Hayley

Death came upon him all to quickly.

He was not ready to go.

We were not done living.

But now he is gone.

I gaze upon his lifeless body,

as it lays perfectally in the casket.

This can not be my husband.

He can not be gone.

I reach out to touch his hand.

It is cold, just like my heart.

Tear sting my eyes.

I can not hold back anymore.

I sink to my knees and cry.

I cry for my lonely hand,

Knowing he will never hold it again.

I cry for my lips,

Knowing his will never peck mine again.

I cry for my cheek,

Knowing he will never caress it again.

I cry for my heart,

Knowing it will never be warmed again.

I cry for my soul,

Knowing he will never be apart of me,

ever again.

Our wedding vows,

So long ago,

Connected us,

Till' death do us part.

I never knew it would hurt this much.

What is the point of living,

When you loose all that you are living for?
