Grounded

Grounded

A Poem by Hayley
"

Once again, someone who is no longer in my life. I think this does the whole idea better justice.

"

I hath wilted with the disdain nary of piety,

For faith bade me good riddance four seasons ago;

My wounds lick the salt from thy notoriety,

Parching the heart with the drought of woe.

Perhaps I ought not to sit upon the spent;

Gossamer clouds dost seek vindication for none all too clear.

I shall listen merely to my ground friend, the meadowlark’s lament

To rid me of my musings austere.

O the merry days held such wistful mind,

Pray thy rope of ash betwixt us fester and burn;

But no ocean can submerge the ties that bind,

Nor cease these flames that heighten churn.

Yeah Gods. I make a point to click on one new person a day and am so glad I did. A fantastic read, vibrant and alive. Phrases that burn their way deep into the memory. So well written with such power. And such a clever usage of Olde Language. A terrific read both on paper and outloud

wow the last stanza is utterly breathtaking.. O the merry days held such wistful mind,
Pray thy rope of ash betwixt us fester and burn... The vocabulary is powerful and hefty. The image is amazing, i read it twice to get the whole idea :) an amazing piece :) you've got a very unique talent :)

Very old school. Feels sacred. Your images are wonderfully drawn, and, even with the hefty language, the emotions burn through your word. Skillfully done...and...I felt it.

Brava!
