Letter opener

Letter opener

A Poem by Hayley

I want to open my arm

like a knife to a letter,

so swift-

to see little red flowers

dot between my eyes

like an Indian girl

Maybe they are tears

but I can’t get rid of (you)

run through my blood.

heavy thoughts here...again your use of simile is sound...
and i like the switch in the second stanza from simile to metaphor.
interesting that you use "Letter Opener" since letters are hardly written anymore...because of the internet...i used to love letters...writing and reading them.

Quietly breathes... I haven't stopped by for a bit. But I did today.

You ever sit outside
while the snow falls?
The blanket covers all the dark
and the misty breath forms
droplets ...to hide the tears.
Sometimes I can even FEEL
and the shiver enwraps my heart
and cracks the chill ice.

thank you so much!
Sometime words can take us to places we desire to escape. I like the use of the letter opener. The ending left the reader with thoughts to ponder. Thank you for the outstanding poetry.
