The Colours of Sunset
Blue waves, green leaves, red blood, black pain. Something in the yellow flower blared careless joy, something in the purple veil whispered royalty, and beauty. This is the scene I saw before my eyes, on the day the stars touched the earth, and the sea stopped to dance. Behind the raging waves in a black night, a slender tree, still young in its roots did drip blood from its leaves unto the veil tied to its trunk, and a multitude did wail before it, as an emissary, masked in a dark cloak set it ablaze. The tempest could not quench its flames, but neither could the flames consume the tree, for only that which is born of fire can be destroyed by fire…
Pink petals, an orange sunset, golden chains and a white robe. Something in her young, glimmering eyes spelled divinity, something in the hands that held her to the sun spelled mystery. On the last hour of light, the dawn of darkness, the babe did cry. Amidst falling roses at the final twilight, the princess of the sunset bay was raised to the eyes of her creator by a man bound in bright chains. The whistling of the wind and the dancing of the clouds were a sign, but its message was unspoken… the beach was the same; the ashes of a tree that never burnt lay scattered on the sand, never washed away by the tides, or blown away by the wind…
