Hateful Souls

Hateful Souls

A Poem by Havatara

Why do they do this to themselves?

Why do they turn away from those

who they had once called their friends?
I don’t understand

why they are they way they are, full of anger

and resentment.

I guess that they’re just

hateful souls.

Why did he need to lie?

Why did she need to ignore the truth?

Why is their world in black and white

while everyone else sees in colors?

Why can’t they see the way they

stab a knife through our shoulder blades?

I guess that they’re just

hateful souls.

Why do they need so much

fear and resentment

from those that surround them?

Why do they call themselves

the ones who are the victims,

all alone in the world?

I guess that they’re just

hateful souls.

Hateful souls never have

dearest friends or loving families.

This is true, even for them.

They’re cast away from

everyone of us except those

who are too foolish to see their lies.

Those who are too unwise

and believe the tales they spin.

I guess that hateful souls

sometimes win.

This is about some idiotic friends of mine who have been lying to everyone they meet. I don't understand why they lie, and I resent them for it.

This is a great poem. it reflects how you feel with a enthralling poetic aspect, it both takes away and enlightens your anger at these idiotic friends of yours, and it is a well-written, well-presented poem.
Personally, my favourite line was

"Why can’t they see the way they

stab a knife through our shoulder blades?"

That was very powerful and poetic, in my opinion.
Good job!

I see myself in the other end of the line. One of the hateful souls I suppose? I lie to protect myself. I can't say the same for your friends though. Great poem
