Due to foreseen and preventable circumstances...

When the mountains collapse
When the beaches sink
When the forests rot
Tomorrow is cancelled

When the skyscrapers crumble
When the bridges tumble
When the satellites fall
Tomorrow is cancelled

When the oil dries up
When the dams rust over
When the wind stops blowing
Tomorrow is cancelled

When the child is starved
When the mother is raped
When the father is murdered
Tomorrow is cancelled

When we close our eyes
When we turn our backs
When we choose to ignore
Tomorrow is cancelled

Hm. For some, tomorrow is cancelled before they even have a today. I love the fact that the thought of tomorrow being cancelled is broad, and eventually narrowed to the point: closed eyes and turned backs cancel our future.
