Tainted Chicken Memories

Tainted Chicken Memories

A Poem by Haunzwürthe
"

My brain started leaking and this is what came out...

"
The wind
slapping the turret
at 50mph
pushing against
my face
a cool blanket
to fend off

The sun
slowly dipping
due west to meet
our two lane road
passing beneath

The wheels
bring a constant
drone, tire
and engine duet
freedom
as we pass

The cars
humbling really
see them slow
pull to the side
while we storm on
respect, fear, both
and I see

The man
sitting patiently
he returns
the gaze and
I think it's
Colonel Sanders
in a Corolla
waving at me
a nice gesture
to preclude

The explosion

Whatever you do, don't plug that leak in your brain. This is good stuff. Just surreal enough to be spicy; just real enough to be solid. It sits in the gut....threatening...cussing....spitting...demanding to be read again.
