Salmon Sky

Salmon Sky

A Poem by Mad_Hatter56

A boat beneath a Salmon Sky,
Drifts lazily out to sea,
It's captain lay upon it's floor,
As sad as he could be.

"I love you," His lover said,
Earlier in the day,
"But not enough to be with you,
I'm afraid that I can't stay."

He watched him leave with his things,
Never to return,
And as he watched him walk away,
His blood began to burn,

His eyes, they filled with heated tears,
His lips held in a line,
His hands were balled into tight fists,
But he said that he was fine.

Now his mind fills with violent thoughts,
As he's drifting on the sea,
Lying on the boats wooden floor,
As sad as he can be.

And now beneath this Salmon sky,
As the sound of water fills his ears,
He plunges into the icy waves,
And drowns his remaining years.
