Stars

An old poem, written for someone I used to be with.

Looking at the stars and thinking of you,
Thinking of things we used to do,
Like walking you home in the streets at night,
And holding onto your hand so tight.

Looking at the stars and thinking of you,
Thinking of things I wish I could do,
Like kiss the sadness off of your face,
Or get lost in your sweet embrace.

Looking at the stars, wishing you were here,
Missing the life we had, my dear,
Wishing I could see how we turned out,
Wishing I hadn't been left with so much doubt.
